To Provide Loudeye Technology To Broadband Content Providers

SEATTLE -(Dow Jones)- NBC Internet Inc. has agreed to offer LoudeyeTechnologies
Inc.'s digital media services to its broadband content providers.Financial
terms of the arrangement weren't disclosed.
Loudeye (LOUD), whose technology enables digital distribution over theInternet,
said the agreement would enable NBC Internet's providers to convertaudio
and video content for the media portal. Loudeye's services includeencoding,
file and database management, watermarking, archiving anddistribution.
NBCi.com's current content partner roster includes more than 20 providers
insuch categories as business, entertainment, home, living, news, NBCTV,
shopping,sports and technology.
"Working with Loudeye will help strengthen NBCi's leadership position
in thebroadband market," said Benjamin Feinman, NBCi Vice President and
generalmanager of broadband.
San Francisco-based NBCi (NBCI), which is 40%-owned by General Electric
Co. (GE)unit NBC, was launched in November 1999 through the combination
of Snap,XOOM.com and NBC Internet assets.
Separately, NBCi unveiled ten new content arangements for NBCi.com, includingeFit.com,
HoopsTV.com, Muze, MyPrimeTime and Bloomberg Television.
EFit.com will provide original health-and-fitness programming; HoopsTV.com
willoffer text, video and audio commentary including highlights from college,professional,
high-school and playground basketball games; Muze Inc. willsneak-preview
movie trailers; MyPrimeTime will highlight an exclusive videoseries including
interviews with chief executive officers; and Bloomberg Television will
showcase continuous financial news.
